Bath time fun time

You take a bath twice a day. Around 9 am for your morning bath and 6 for your night bath. You, fortunately, love bath time. You could be sound asleep, but I would still wake you up to take a bath, and at first you'd be upset but the moment you realize that it's for bath time, you immediately relax.

This is your bath area. That is your crib over there. Right now, you're still using that yellow thing because you're still too little for the bath tub that we have (Thank you Ninang Tinay) Safety First. We bathe you in my room, in front of the window where you like looking out of, a relaxed expression on your face.

This is your dressing up area - it's actually just my bed. My routine is

1. Carry you there (yaya will put the chair so I can sit and turn the fan on my direction)
2. With the second towel dry your hair, then your face, then your body and then your feet
3. Massage Manzanilla on your legs, your tummy, and then your back.
4. Put diaper on.
5. Put booties on.
6. Put powder.
7. Shirt (Sando during the day, w sleeves at night)
8. Cologne

This is my dresser - this is were your water is prepared. We use those white bottles to wet you.

We use
Wilkins as your water.
J&J Top to toe in the morning
J&J purple one at night.
J&J purple powder
J&J cologne

We use the big one first (we use the cup to fill them up) then while yaya is refilling that, we use the smaller one.

This is your basket I keep beside my bed. That white square thing is the cotton dispenser.

This is what your bath tub looks like. Soon we can dispose of the yellow thing and then you can truly enjoy bathing!

and let us not forget the two important aspects of Bath time - trashtime. I always have that rug to make sure my floor doesn't get slippery wet and the thrashcan is just there to catch the diaper and cotton I will throw at it.

Binyag

Your binyag is on August 1. Why this date? Because I didn't have enough funds to hold it earlier, and holding it later wasn't ideal because we are Catholics and bringing you out of the house isn't good if you haven't been baptized yet.

Food and Venue - done. Pito & Mita, I chose this because I was looking for something simple. A quiet intimate place with good food - not too commercial.

Lechon - (sponsored by Tita Gina)

Cake - (sponsored by Tita Joanne)

Cupcakes - (Sponsored by Tita Pia)

Sponsors pack - Rosewood rosaries

Thank you pack - Red bubble gum/ marshmallows/ m&ms

Decor - (sponsored by Tita Sarah) Balloons. This you have to thank me for, because I am terrified of balloons and I will be doing the arrangement by myself to save on money.

Banner - (Design sponsored by Tita Mec, Tarp sponsored by Tito River)

Church - San Antonio de Padua

Dress - We already have your binyag dress, but I'm thinking about getting you a gown, so we're still not settled on that.

My budget is Php20K. I can't spare any more because I haven't been able to save money just yet - but after this, I promise, we will save money for your future. :*

I'm so excited about the gifts!!! I've been itching to buy you toys but have restrained myself because of the binyag. I'm hoping for the following:

1. My favorite thing ever -I've been itching to buy this (Only Php 1,900 from Rustans) but your lola told me to wait since you can't really control your head yet and this requires neck support. I can imagine you laughing loudly while you spin around and around!

Lamaze Spin & Explore Garden Gym

If we don't get this, I will definitely buy it.

2. My second most favorite - Your Ninang Roch was the one who pointed this out to us and I saw stars right away. She's buying this for us. (woohooo, I just convinced her!)
Lamaze Gardenbug Wrist Rattle & Foot Finder Set

3. Play Gym - there are so many to choose from! But this one is really cute
Baby Einstein Around The World Play Gym

4. Swing - Right now what we do is manually swing your carrier around, and I know you will love it more when you can actually spend hours and hours on it. And I don't care if you will only use it for a few months - the max weight is 25 and you're only 12 pounds so there will be a lot more to go. (Fisher-Price Take Along Swing- Woodlands)

5. Stationary Entertainer - Tita May and Ninong River might get you this, I don't know what kind though. I hope it's something like this:
Baby Einstein Musical Motion Activity Jumper

6. High Chair (Yes, a full high chair please, not the booster you just put on a chair. Not safe for the kind of chairs we have at home)

We won't use this anytime soon - in about four months though, this will be very very important.

There are a lot to choose from, but this is the one I would like to have
Fisher-Price Rainforest Healthy Care High Chair

7. Milk Bottle (Our brand is Avent) (yes, you breastfeed exclusively, but I pump and need bottles.

8. Feeding things - The Avent rubber spoon, the cute magic cup... etc.

9. Inflatables!

10. all sorts of toys and clothes!

2 Months

I have so many and nothing to write about.

You turned two months the other day, but sadly we weren't able to buy cake and party because Typhoon Basyang struck Wednesday and there was a nationwide black out and we didn't have aircon at home, luckily power was back up pretty fast at the condo so we trekked there with your cousins.

We stayed there all day and you three were pretty funny. I hope you grow to be close to your cousins. Your Tita Kathy and I spent almost every summer vacay together but now we barely even get the chance to talk. Time and distance took it's toll.

So you're two months old now, and you're growing to be more and more delightful.

My favorite part of day is in the morning when I wake up. I always wake up to your giggling shreaking sound :D

Turning two months also meant that you needed shots, and I cried (like you did) when you got them. Hay. And Mommy didn't let me carry you agad and she made me drive while she carried you in the car.

So I gave you two hundred kisses when you were sleeping.

Toys

Today we went to meet your Ninang Wilma and Ninong Russ. On the way out of ATC we passed by ToysRUs and I spent about half an hour looking at toys for you. And I found these two (From Bright starts):

Your very first rattle

and

Your very first whachamacallit

I'm happy to report that you, at least on the first night with them, loved them.

While lulling you to sleep, a thought crossed my mind. I will not give you a lot of toys to play with at the same time. I will only let you play with one or two toys at a time, until you tire of them or you've exhausted all possible playing time with them before I give you a new one. No doubt you will be receiving lots of toys in the future but too much of something is never a good thing. I want to teach the the value of Value. Worth.

That's something I am still trying to learn.

*Update

I just realized that those are not your very very first toys. Ninang Rhia gave you your first toy (a teether) on my baby shower. You haven't used it yet, but I'm sure you will soon!

Taste Buds

You're so cute!

In your eight weeks you know four teats:
Mine
Avent
Farlin
Pacifier

We discontinued Farlin when you outgrew the 2oz bottles so that still leaves you with three. It's funny because you know now the difference between the pacifier and my teats. You'd do a little "taste test" by sticking out your tongue and checking to see if there's milk coming out or not. Depending on what you want I know when to give you the pacifier and when to give you mine.

Love,
Mommy

Gwapo

All grandkids I helped mom take care of wore white, mainly because it looks clean and it shows critters and dirt stains right away. I found this sensible so when I did my baby layette shopping, I got everything in white.

I would sometimes get the urge to dress you in colors, but I'd worry I might miss something and the furthest I've gone were pink linings on your white polo shirts. Until now.

The other day, while at Festival mall (yes Anak, you've been malling) a girl complimented you (but of course) and told me "Ang gwapo ng anak nyo". I politely smiled and thanked her, but I did say that you're a she. She apologized and we both went our separate ways.

After thinking about it over night I left you with your lola, took your Ate Bea to school, went to Festival Mall and spent Php1,500 on colorful clothes for you. Your lola who normally would've nagged my head off didn't protest much (except that I bought too many when you'd be growing up fast) whenI showed her my loot because, I guess, she also doesn't like you being mistaken for a boy.

And yes, just Php1,500. Anak, do not expect branded clothes, even when we could afford them. I can not abide spending a lot on one clothing. Food, I will spend on, but never things others could live without. You must always keep in mind that though on most things Quality is better than Quantity, every day clothes is not one of them.

Love,
Mommy
