Happy Birthday Sophie

Your first birthday. You can walk now, wobble a little, really, but you grow more and more confident everyday.Pretty soon you will be making us run after you.

Your birthday was a big success, at least from where I'm sitting. You had a great time, what with all our friends going gaga over you. Im already excited about next year, when you would know more about what's going on and the celebration will actually stay with you.

Ladybug DIY party

SO I just had to choose the most uncommercial theme for your birthday party. Lady bug. The cake was easy, and it was the easiest to come up with. By luck I stumbled upon your coat. Now the party hats, and the loot bag, and the streamers, disasters. Can I just cry now? of course not.

So I am making these.

Cake Design for Sophie's bday

Hi Pia,

I'm still undecided on the theme. I know I want stars, half moons, a lady bug, wands, castles and crowns on it.

Two or three layers depending on the cost.
The colors sana are festive, so im not sure if that can be achieved if we go with frosted.
Flavor - Im thinking chocolate - but we can discuss that. I am open to suggestions.

Changes:
Lady bug will be traditional black and red.
More vibrant shade of green and pink
We will stick stars behind the ladybug like in cake number 4 below and the balls surrounding the cake will be bigger and of differnt colors

I am hoping both layers will be edible :D if it would be too heavy, we can create one layer each, and I will have a special cake tower made.

When I first saw it, I liked it, but I was hoping for a smaller circle, to make it look more .... i dunno, pulledtogether? not even sure if thats the right word. THEN I got to taste it. Heaven. the top layer (yes, both layers are real! Even the ladybug is a cake!) is best, because when it's sliced, chances are the icing on the bottom part comes with it and it makes for awesome sweetness!

I think what Pia (Baked Pea's) did was create 2 cakes and put them one on top of the other. And then added a third layer (sort of) of gum paste ladybug. Which to this day I'm still eating, little by little.

Sleep

Dear Sophie,

You sleep with your grandparents on weekdays and with me on weekends. You like to cuddle and snuggle and often your hand holds my arm with your feet draped over my side. It is quite a feat for your short legs because I, very big :P

I wonder how this will be for you in the long run. I can only sleep alone when Im surrounded by pillows.

Ninong Ton

Ton Ton Piamonte

We go way back, so far back that we went to both his junior and senior prom together.He was also my constant companion during our pregnancy, and up to this day when I want to go out Ninong Ton is our buddy of choice.

He is a family friend, our moms are friends, how that happened I don't know.

We usually hang out weekends and we love trying out new restos in BF. Our current goal, foodwise, is to complete all 21 dishes of 21plates.

Cyclone

Saying you have curly hair doesn't even begin to describe that amazing wildness you have on your head. It's curly, yes. And it curls in all direction.

You were born with very little hair, when it started to grow it was concentrated on one side - and we thought you only had one puyo then 

 That hair was at 4 months. Now at 9 months, you have 3 puyos, and everything is growing in different directions.
